THE ANSWERS TO ALL THOSE LINGERING QUESTIONS
Who is this retreat for?
The SoulFuel Retreat is designed for the woman who senses an internal shift, is ready to prioritize her own needs for rest and joy, and is committed to shedding the mental and physical burden of carrying too much for too long. It is for the woman ready to soften, let go, reconnect with her authentic self, and join an intimate circle of like-minded women dedicated to living fully and brilliantly.
What is the group size ?
We intentionally keep our retreats intimate, typically hosting 20–25 attendees. This size is perfect—small enough to provide personalized attention, yet large enough to create a lively, energetic atmosphere full of fun and connection!
What yoga experience level do I need to have and what about physical limitations?
We warmly welcome all yoga experience levels to the SoulFuel Retreat! While our daily yoga sessions are intended for everyone, we recommend that beginners have practiced yoga a few times beforehand to be familiar with basic commands and the general flow of a session.
Regarding physical limitations, we want to ensure you have the best possible experience. While you are always welcome to adjust your personal yoga practice to your comfort level, if at any time you wish to rest or take a break, child's pose is always welcome.
Who will I room with ?
If you're attending with a friend or group, just list each other’s names on your registration form under roommate request and we’ll make sure you’re paired together. Coming solo? You’re in great company—most of our guests arrive on their own, and many leave with lifelong friends. Since this is an intentionally curated circle of like-minded women, you're likely to hit it off like long lost friends. We also introduce the entire group in a group Whatsapp about a month in advance so you may already be besties before entering the country!
Can I bring my spouse or children?
You deserve seven incredible days devoted entirely to yourself. This retreat is exclusively for women and designed to curate that sisterhood connection as well as rejuvenate your feminine energy. So, no spouses or children to be allowed.
What about my dietary needs?
Vida Asana’s menu as detailed above is primarily vegan with Eggs during breakfast and fish every other night. The menu is thoughtfully designed with food sensitivities in mind, and the kitchen team is highly experienced in preparing meals for a wide range of dietary preferences and restrictions. Should you have any special dietary needs please email Jessica@brilliancekey.com so that we can confirm any accommodations or provide alternative options where available.
Do I have to stay on the property or with the group?
Yes, the full experience includes all accommodations and cannot be altered or separated. The retreat is intentionally designed as a cohesive group journey, and we don’t want you to miss any of the incredible classes, excursions, or shared moments we have planned. Staying on property and being part of the group is truly where the growth, and deep connections happen.
What's the weather going to be like?
Late May marks the official transition from the dry season to the start of the "Green Season" (rainy season) in Costa Rica, offering a beautiful mix of sun and refreshing rain. Expect warm, tropical days with high humidity; daytime highs generally hover in the mid-80s to low-90s, and evenings are comfortably warm, typically staying in the low to mid-70s. Mornings are typically sunny and dry, while the rainfall usually begins in the late afternoons and evenings, often in the form of heavy, refreshing showers that turn the landscape lush and green. It's rare to have all-day rain, but the moisture makes the air quite humid, so we recommend packing a lightweight rain jacket or poncho for the afternoon showers.
How do I get there ?
After landing at SJO International Airport, you’ll meet your fellow attendees at the cafe located to your right as you leave baggage claim and then board the group transportation heading to Vida Asana. Our drivers will have your flight details and will wait approximately 40 minutes if your arrival is delayed. If you prefer not to use the group shuttle or happen to miss it, you’ll be responsible for arranging your own transportation. The drive is about 90 minutes, and private cars typically cost between $100–$150.
I’m booking my flight, when should I arrive?
We ask that attendees schedule their arrival into SJO no later than 1:00 PM to ensure a smooth 2:00 PM bus departure. For your return flight, we recommend choosing a departure time of 1:00 PM or later from SJO.
What is included with my ticket?
Absolutely everything! Once you arrive at SJO Airport, we handle the rest. Your accommodations, meals and beverages, all classes, adventures, yoga sessions, entertainment, and even some amazing swag are fully included.
What’s not included: Your airfare, optional adult beverages at the beach dinner, any additional activities or excursions you choose on your free day, souvenirs, or nights out.
What if I have physical limitations?
This retreat may not be suitable for those with physical limitations. The venue includes multiple levels that require the use of stairs to access rooms and yoga classes, and the property features uneven terrain, hills, and pathways. Additionally, our excursions involve a fair amount of walking, light hiking over uneven ground.
What should I pack for clothes and classes?
Guests should pack clothing suitable for active days, including hiking shoes or sandals, yoga attire, beachwear, swimwear, flip-flops, and casual outfits like shorts, sundresses, and tank tops made from light, breathable fabrics. Evenings can be cooler—especially during the green season—so a light jacket, loose-fitting long-sleeve top, or light pants are recommended. A rain jacket or poncho is also advised if you’re visiting during the green season. Yoga mats, blocks, belts are provided and it is not necessary to bring your own.

Helpful AppsWe recommend downloading the free communication app, ‘Whatsapp’. It is very helpful for communicating with Vida Asana and other members of your group, through data and Wi-Fi. If you will be navigating yourself through Costa Rica, before or after your retreat here, the free navigation app ‘Waze’ is helpful to have as most locations have a Waze link that they can send to you or you can look up directly.
WaterWater is taken very seriously at Vida Asana! There is no need to buy plastic bottles of water, just bring your favorite water bottle and refill at our filtered water station. All water on the property goes through five filters before reaching the rooms and kitchen, and then continues through a diverse filtration process complete with restoring any beneficial minerals pulled out during the filtering, before reaching our water station.
